Silent Chaos

img_4208I sit here listening the rustling of the trees and feel the cool breeze sweeping into my bedroom. Deep breaths…in and out. One more time to hopefully take in whatever strength I can gain from Mother Nature as she joins me from the slightly cracked window. I don’t consider myself an outdoorsy person as I don’t hike as often as I’d like to nor do I go biking like some. I do, however, know that the outdoors is what centers me when I need it the most. The fresh air helps me to reset whatever is has somehow shut down within me and restarts my body and soul. While closing my eyes, I visualize everything that I must accomplish today, tomorrow and during the week. I tell myself it will all be okay and will get done when it needs to get done. I think this to myself as I have my legs tucked underneath my Ikea covers with my old man doggy at my feet. I suppose if I think it, it will be or at least that’s what I’m hoping for. Visualize and manifest. Harnessing my power to get a grip on the silent chaos going on in my head.

Our Angel from Above

IMG_4829

A beautiful sunset reserved for a few,
A breathtaking horizon brings life anew,
Caressed by nature’s touch,
You float through the land,
Touching our lives, with heavy hearts,
We reach for your hand,
A slight breeze whisks through the air,
As your face fades away,
We hold on tight to the memories,
That forever will stay,
The impression you left in our hearts it burns bright,
You are now amongst the stars and brighten the night,
The happiness you brought was by far the most pure,
Such unconditional love,
Stronger than one heart could endure,
Strength shall guide me through my days,
With cherished moments so content,
You were indeed my Angel,
Now I know you were heaven sent.

Love, Mommy

Poetry and I

IMG_1432

I wrote this poem many, many years ago during one of my on-again off-again poetry phases. Poetry has always been an outlet for self- expression and I hope to revisit that part of me again some day.

Not Good-Bye

During the presence of love between two distant souls,
I squeezed through the cracks and new forming holes,
They may have occurred while lonely was spent,
Or in between rings when feelings were sent,
Upon a shelf, there lie my thoughts of concern,
While on this final page, a new lesson learned,
The warmest affection only given to replace,
Only to discover their hearts sought a new place,
Yet fully aware of the plans on the wall,
Gone was their face, while twice it’d be fall,
A quick embrace for hours shared that ran thin,
A single trace of salt, left to moisten my skin,
A lengthy wave unseen as you soared through the sky,
I’ll always possess a shoulder to lean, so take care not good-bye.
